Who I am and why I started this blog.
My name is Anthony Humpage. I am a CPA by profession and a senior executive with a Scottsdale-based defense department contractor. A 26-year Scottsdale resident, I have lived in Cimarron Hills for approximately 6 years.
I served on the transitional CH board when we took our association over from Toll Brothers. I was also the transitional treasurer. At the time, my key goal was to prevent the establishment of an entrenched fiefdom in the management of CH. A perfect example of what I sought to avoid may be seen at Stonegate where it essentially appears the HOA has an executive director for life who runs a pretty authoritarian ship. I am fiscally conservative so far as the CH is concerned. I never want us to be faced with a special assessment, or for that matter, a “sales tax” such as some other HOAs have imposed on their homeowners. During my tenure on the board I worked for value and quality for our homeowners. For example, during my time on the board we competitively bid the contracts of our largest vendors, which led, for one thing, to the replacement of our then management company with Rossmar & Graham.
Our community HOA does not, in my opinion, do a good job of communicating with its homeowners. Certainly it is fair to say one has to pull information, it is not pushed to us in a user-friendly way. In today’s digital World, I find this lamentable. So here we have this blog. You may also follow us on Twitter at cimarronhillsAZ.
